About Us

HazMatIQ LLC is a training company that delivers easy to understand and impossible to forget Hazardous Materials/WMD training to emergency responders. HazMatIQ’s mission is to become the nation's HazMat training department, to include onsite, onsite, just-in-time training and professional consultation. A key strategy is to expand the HazMatIQ product line to develop new and innovative response tools, all designed to assist the responder in making safe and timely "risk-based response decisions."

HazMatIQ’s Above the Line Smart Charts has revolutionized the way responders learn how to respond to Hazardous Materials/WMD emergencies. The HazMatIQ program is a patented system developed by responders, for responders and only available from HazMatIQ. This critical response tool was developed by Cris Aguirre (35 years experience Miami Dade Fire Rescue) and Joe Gorman (25 years experience Fairfax County, VA Fire and Rescue) with “keep it simple” in mind. HazMatIQ’s innovative “street-smart cheat sheets” enable responders to safely and efficiently respond to any known or unknown chemical mixture. After just one day of training, students can size up physical state, hazards, initial hot zone, correct meters and PPE for any chemical in minutes. The system then coaches responders through a streamlined chemical research method to verify their initial size-up, preparing responders to immediately go to work when they arrive on a Hazardous Materials/WMD event. 100% of the students say they are better prepared and more confident in their decisions when responding to a Hazardous Materials/WMD incident after just one day of our training.

HazMatIQ has trained thousands of responders, including FDNY, NYPD, National Guard Civil Support Teams (CST), US Army Chemical Corp, EPA, Capital Police HMRT, Bayer Crop Science, Conoco Phillips, Yale University, Environment Canada Environmental Enforcement Division, Louisiana State Police, Kinross Gold Mine, Amgen/Puerto Rico (Spanish), Argentina (Spanish), Columbia (Spanish).

The HazMatIQ system has been taught across the United States to thousands of responders in the U.S. and worldwide in such countries as Argentina, Canada, Columbia, India, and Puerto Rico.
